With the WorldCast Meridian, flexibility is key. The unit offers broadcasters a choice of main and back-up telecom links as well as the option of many popular coding algorithms. Standard 16-bit apt-X®, Enhanced 16 & 24-bit apt-X® are supplied as standard and an optional multi-algorithm suite incorporating MPEG 1/2 Layer II/III, MPEG 4 AAC LD, AAC LC, G.711 and G.722 is also available. In addition to the standard IP interface allowing connection to Wide Area and Local Area Networks, WorldCast Meridian can also connect to high speed fixed synchronous networks using X.21/V.35 or fractional T1/E1 links.
A new audio codec for the modern IP audio age, WorldCast Meridian enables easy migration to IP audio transport while retaining the reliability and audio performance associated with all APT audio codecs. The system offers an array of features including Automatic Back-up, Silence Detect, Contact Closures, Alarm Ports and DSP architecture for 24/7/365 reliability.
Control of the WorldCast Meridian can be as simple or in-depth as you require. In addition to front panel operation and audio level monitoring, the system also comes with APT's Codec Management System (CMS) Software package. This enables extensive monitoring and management capability of multiple WorldCast systems over IP.
