Within larger networks, a concerted effort is made to share content between different studios and also to minimize on-going costs. Installing a T1 or E1 between studios will allow a network to share audio, Voice / Data and WAN.
Keeping the audio quality to the maximum quality available should be a primary consideration with the audio sampled at 48kHz and a Word Depth of 24-bit resolution.
The most cost-effective solution for stations is to segment their inter-studio T1/ E1, allocating a section for audio and using the remainder to access servers or transfer telephone calls, thus removing the cost of long distance charges.
